Who is Christian Dior? The legend of French fashion dsigner - Christian Dior is one of the most influential fashion designers in the world.
During his career, he was responsible for the majority of the French fashion design spread throughout the world.

Dior was born on January 21, 1905 in the seaside town of Granville in Normandy, France.
Christian Dior came from a wealthy family and grew up along with four other siblings in a house with an ocean view.
When Dior was about five years old, his family moved to Paris, but still regularly return to the Normandy beaches for the summer holidays.
Dior studied political science to please his parents although he aspired to be an architect.
Although Christian Dior parents hope their children would become a diplomat, his father finally agreed to finance the opening of an art gallery owned by Dior in 1928.


The art gallery was quite successful and showcase various works of great artists such as Pablo Picasso.
Three years later, after the death of his mother and brother as well as due to the decrease in fertilizer business they work at Dior family, the art galleries should be closed.
As the closure of the gallery, Christian Dior survive by selling sketches for the couture fashion.
Subsequently, he became an assistant designer for Robert Piguet. Dior ever made a dress for the wife of Nazi soldiers officer during World War II.


He worked for a fairly large fashion companies owned by Lucien Lelong in 1940-1945 before switching to a similar business owned by Marcel Boussac.
Boussac, called The King of Cotton, has a clothing company called Phillipe in Gaston.
Boussac help finance the establishment of the House of Dior in a big house with eight employees.
In 1947, the label owned by Christian Dior New Look has greatly influenced fashion around the world.
The term given to the New Look Dior designs because they have a different view of fashion at that time.
Draw famous Dior gown design such as the design with an hourglass shape that became a trend in the late 1940s and early 1950s.
Christian Dior become successful and rich as the world famous fashion designer.

He died in Italy in 1957 after choking on a fish bone and then had a heart attack.
Yves Saint Laurent, Dior 's assistant for four years, became head designer of Dior after the death of the founder.
